Where new accounts go wrong

Wrong account type

A personal account for a business, with documents that do not match at verification.

Verification stuck

Identity, bank or business details rejected, and the account cannot receive payouts.

Listing too much too soon

Hitting new-seller limits, or drawing review with a burst of high-value listings.

No business policies

Shipping, returns and payment set listing by listing, inconsistently.

Handling time you cannot meet

Late shipments in the first weeks, on an account with no history to absorb them.

Restricted categories

Listing items that need approval before the account has any.

What we do

A clean start is the cheapest account health work there is

New accounts have no history to absorb a mistake. A late shipment, an out-of-stock cancellation or a policy issue in the first weeks weighs more than it will later, and can slow the limits that let the store grow. We set the account up in the right order, with the policies and handling time the business can actually meet, and list in a way that builds the history eBay wants to see.

Our eBay account setup follows the requirements eBay publishes in its Seller Center, checked against your documents before anything is submitted.

What's included

eBay account setup, step by step

Every part of opening and setting up an eBay seller account that we can handle for you.

Choosing the account

Individual eBay account creation
A personal account for occasional selling, registered in your own name with a verified email, phone and address.
Business eBay account creation
A business account under the registered business name, with the business contact details eBay shows to buyers.
Sole trader eBay account setup
Sole traders sell as a business: a business account set up in your own name or trading name, with sole trader as the business type.
eBay account creation by country
The documents and tax details eBay asks for differ by country, for example a Social Security or Employer Identification Number in the US, and the details eBay reports to HMRC in the UK. We set up the account for the country you sell from.

Registration and verification

eBay seller registration and seller account setup
Seller registration completed in one pass, so the account can list without repeated checks.
eBay identity verification support
Identity and payout verification documents prepared to match the account details exactly, the most common cause of verification delays.
eBay business information setup
Registered name, address, VAT or tax numbers and contact details entered to match your documents.

Payments, profile and store

eBay managed payments setup
eBay collects buyer payments and pays out to your bank account on the schedule you choose. We set up the payout account and the details eBay needs to release funds.
eBay seller profile setup
Username, profile photo and profile description that tell buyers who they are buying from.
eBay store setup
A store subscription only if the listing volume pays for it, with categories, branding and store description in place.

  • Selling limits rise with clean history
  • New-seller payout holds ease with completed orders
  • Early defects weigh more on a small account
Why it matters

The first 90 days set the account's trajectory

Selling limits, payout holds and how much benefit of the doubt an account gets all depend on its history, and a new account has none. Clean first months raise limits and release funds faster; a messy start means months of restricted growth and, at worst, a review. Doing setup properly costs less than fixing it later.

FAQ

Questions sellers ask before they get in touch

Should I open a business or a personal account?

If you are selling as a registered business, or intend to sell regularly for profit, a business account is usually the right choice: it carries the business name and details, and matches the documents eBay may ask for during verification. Our guide compares the two in detail.

Can you open an account for someone who was suspended before?

No. Opening a new account to get around a suspension breaks eBay's policies and the new account is usually linked and suspended too. If you have been suspended, the route is an appeal on the original account.

Why are new accounts limited in what they can sell?

eBay applies selling limits to new sellers on the number of items and total value listed each month, and raises them as the account builds history. Setting up correctly and selling cleanly in the first months is what gets limits raised.

Why might eBay hold my first payouts?

eBay can hold funds for new sellers until an order is delivered or a set time passes, while the account has little history. It is normal, and it eases as the account builds a record of completed orders.

What happens after setup?

You can run the account yourself with the policies and templates we set up, or move into full account management. Either way, the first 90 days are the ones to handle carefully.
