Total marketplace fees adds the listing fee, the 6.5% transaction fee on item plus shipping, payment processing and, where the sale came from an Offsite Ad, the Offsite Ads fee. Net profit takes off your materials, shipping and packaging.

Run the same product with and without Offsite Ads. If a sale through an Offsite Ad leaves little or no profit and your shop is under $10,000 a year, opting out may be worth considering; above $10,000 it is mandatory, so the 12% has to be priced in. Our guide on pricing Etsy products covers the rest.

FAQ

Etsy fee calculator questions

What fees does Etsy charge on a sale?

For a US shop using Etsy Payments: a $0.20 listing fee (charged when the item is listed and again when it sells or renews), a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping and gift wrap, and payment processing of 3% plus $0.25. Offsite Ads add a further fee on orders they bring in.

How do Offsite Ads fees work?

If a sale comes from an Etsy ad on another site, Etsy charges 15% of the order total, or 12% for shops that made $10,000 or more in the past 12 months, for whom Offsite Ads are mandatory. The fee is capped at $100 per order.

Does the transaction fee apply to shipping?

Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee applies to the item price plus shipping and gift wrap, so free shipping built into the price and charged shipping cost the same in transaction fees.

Why is my payout different?

Currency conversion, regulatory operating fees outside the US, Etsy Ads, shipping labels bought through Etsy and sales tax handling all affect the payout. The calculator uses standard US Etsy Payments rates.

Is the $0.20 listing fee charged on every sale?

The listing fee is charged when a listing is published and again for each automatic renewal after a sale, so on a multi-quantity listing it effectively applies per item sold. The calculator includes it on every sale.
